Camera Point

Points in a 3D model that stand for tour node positions, waypoints, cluster points, target cameras, and the model's default view. Pano2VR finds the shortest path through their connections for transitions.

Camera points make up a graph of points with connections between them, so that Pano2VR can find a path from one tour node to another along which to move the camera when transitioning between tour nodes. If two nodes are not connected, the camera flies straight from one to the other.

  • Tour Node – Aligns the model with a panorama and marks where the panorama was taken. Shown as a camera in the Viewer.

  • Waypoint – Defines paths with several segments between camera points. Shown as a small sphere.

  • Cluster Point – Groups camera points that should share a common motion path. Shown as an octahedron.

  • Target Camera – A saved view in the model, with its own field of view and camera mode.

  • Default View – The model’s opening view, which you can use as the start or end of motion paths.

Cluster points are similar to waypoints, but they are used only for connections and do not affect the camera’s motion path. They let you build clusters of camera points that share similar routes without connecting every camera point to every route.

Imagine a room with several tour node camera points and waypoints in the doors that lead to other areas. Place one cluster point inside the room, connect all tour node camera points to it, and connect the cluster point to each waypoint. Pano2VR then knows that each tour node is connected to each waypoint and transitions directly from the tour node to the waypoint, using the cluster point only for the connections.
